I have been painting full time for over 20 years and still get a “buzz” when outside in changing light. The challenge of trying to capture the essence of the scene in front of me has always provided the starting point for my work.
This year, I have been developing new ideas in my studio, moving towards a semi-abstract interpretation of the landscape. I found myself using colours such as Prussian Blue and Turquoise, painting big skies over expansive landscapes or coastlines. These new works are giving me a renewed passion for painting. I hope you find them an exciting and interesting interpretation of the ever-changing English Landscape.
Original works are available for you to purchase direct from my Studio, through this website. Separately, THE WEY GALLERY in Godalming also have an exclusive selection of my latest paintings.
COMMISSIONS: If you wish to discuss commissioning a painting, then I am happy to travel (within a 50 mile radius) to meet you (free of charge or obligation) to discuss your ideas before taking this further. Please email me to arrange this.
With my Artist Tutor hat on, I have written four art instruction books to date, all published by HarperCollins, three for oil painters and one beginners book on acrylics. As a teacher I run workshops and painting holidays here in the UK, teaching mainly in oils and gouache. Have a look at my Courses and Holidays page for details of the latest courses and painting breaks.
