My main artistic influences come from working outdoors, indeed, most of my paintings are produced either from on location studies or actually started on location, even in winter, with light and colour playing a major role in my work. Favourite subjects tend to involve water, I particularly enjoy painting by the River Thames in Central London and views from the banks of the River Wey in Surrey.
I have written four art instruction books to date for HarperCollins, the latest of which, 30 Minute Oils was published in 2010.
As a teacher I run workshops and painting holidays both in the UK and abroad, teaching mainly in oils and acrylics. I am also a professional associate of the SAA and an exhibiting member of Guilford Art Society.
